I am a writer, reader, artist, biochemist, and gamer, among other things.
I grew up in a country town in rural Victoria, Benalla, and later relocated to Melbourne for University. I’ve always been interested by too many different things, to the point where I never knew what to focus on! Whether it’s languages, dance, how things work, painting, how to make things work better, martial arts, culture, history, the list is endless. I eventually narrowed this down a single career: biochemistry. I now have a BSc (Biochemistry) with first class honours and a BA (Indonesian).
However, through everything, I remained most passionate about fantasy. I had ideas screaming to be let out, and in University, I had to obey. Since starting writing, it’s taken over my life. You can find published samples of my writing here. I’m currently querying a fantasy novel, and working on a second (and third) project because querying is a cruel process but I’m starting to enjoy the pain. Which is a little worrying.
My favourite books are all SF/F. To name just a few, I love the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, Emily Rodda, Anne McCaffrey, Juliet Marillier, Tamora Pierce, Leigh Bardugo, Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff’s. Please leave a comment or reach out on Twitter or Instagram if you’d like to gush about fantasy books with me!
My other interests include Indonesian, martial arts, dance, and painting, and you can view my artwork here.
I would like to pay my respects to the Traditional Owners of the land on which I was born and raised, the Yorta Yorta people, and to pay my respects to their Elders past, present, and future, as well as the Traditional Owners on the land where I currently reside, in the Kulin Nation, and pay my respects to their Elders also.
